Die wysigingswet, wat op 6 April 2023 deur president Cyril Ramaphosa onderteken is, laat die regering toe om demografiese kwotas aan private werkgewers voor te skryf, ongeag of hulle met die staat sake doen. Deur demografiese kwotas voor te skryf oor wie besighede in diens moet neem onder dreigement van boetes, oortree die Wet die vereiste skeiding van samelewing en staat en poog om entrepreneursbeheer van besighede met politieke beheer te vervang.
